Kuta
Once a sleepy village with a quiet, beautiful sweep of beach, Kuta today has become a popular beach destination in its own right, alive with tourists from all over the world, swimming, surfing or sunbathing by the beach.
If you are looking for shopping then you will be spoiled for choice and you can enjoy local markets mixed with upscale shopping malls. There are fine dining options here aplenty as well as quaint local guesthouses and you can spent time walking around the little streets that bisect the area and taking in all the sights.
There are lots of markets, shops and shopping centres (Discovery Mall, Beachwalk). There are also many affordable restaurants. Waterbom Park (waterpark) is a good day out. At night, Kuta isn’t short of a place to have a drink, with many clubs and bars (but personally, we prefer Seminyak bars and beach clubs). And in Bali, no matter where you are, you’re never too far away from a massage. Whatever you choose to do, there is no chance of being bored in Kuta, and even those with families will find a huge amount to enjoy away from the typical nightlife venues.
